Tournament Guidance and rules of play

Due to our contracts with the course, refunds may not be possible if you do not show up.

Accurate score cards promptly returned are essential to running a tournament.

It is the responsibility of each player to verify their score before it is turned in to the tournament committee.  The player is responsible to verify that their score entered for each hole is accurate.

Before turning in the score, review it with each player to ensure it's accuracy and sign it.  By signing you are attesting that the scores are accurate.

If the scorecard is turned in before you have verified it - immediately go to the tournament committee to inform them and ask to review your scores.  If you have signed for your score or wait too long you may be denied the opportunity to correct it.

After the tournament committee has received and processed the scores and an incorrect score is discovered:

  - Actual Hole score lower than recorded - the higher score on the card stands.

  - Actual Hole score higher than recorded - player is disqualified.

Bench Warmer Golf Club play is conducted  in accordance with the USGA Rules of Golf.  Local rules adopted by the Bench Warmer Golf Club are found on the Local Rules and Guidance page of this website.  It is your responsibility to get to know the rules and play by the rules - it makes it fair for everyone.

Any local rules established for a specific tournament will be provided here, below the Tee Times or on the day of  the tournament.
